The Victorian International Running Association, owner of the 10K Times Colonizer, announced on Wednesday its name change to RunSport.
The 10K will now be named as the 10K Age Eraser powered by RunSport. The 29th Annual Race is April 29.
Chris Siver, president of RunSport, said in a statement. "We are excited to be transitioning to RunSport and we believe RunSport reflects our passion and passion for the community and our sport and makes us more accessible to the public."
Meanwhile, TC10K in 2018 and 2019 will be used as the B.C. 10K Road Championship.
The 2018 competition will also introduce technical competition shirts to all 10K contestants, while each 10K Terminator will receive their own custom finisher medal.
Sixth female champion Lucy Smith will serve as ambassador. Smith will set up a new training program for athletes and walkers' jogging training clinics to visit primary schools as part of the Island Farm School Challenge and to represent participating community events.
In addition to previous clinics, clinics have been added to Athletic Sports Center, Cook Street Village Activity Center and Pacific Institute of Physical Education.
RunSport will work with PISE to organize adaptive clinics for participants and their families.
Thrifty Foods is once again the food sponsor and sponsor of Thrifty Foods Family Run. Entrance fees for domestic helpers have been reduced, families can afford it more and encourage participation. All home run participants will receive a Custom Manuscript Medal.
