who wins the commonwealth medal

the answer is Portishead fencer Chris wins the commonwealth medal.

Portishead fencer Chris Prevett has recently returned from competing in the Commonwealth Veterans Fencing Championships in Canberra, Australia. After finishing in fifth place overall in the men’s sabre event, Chris fenced off for and won the gold medal for the highest placed 60-69-year-old before taking part in the team event the following day when he won a silver medal with the England team, losing narrowly to Australia in the final.Chris, aged 64, who had a second hip replacement only a year ago and works part-time for F H Halliday funeral directors in Portishead, was extremely pleased with his performance. He fences for and is chairman of Salle Hunt-Roeder in Bristol, which specialises in sabre under coach Dennis Hunt.

“I am very happy with that race. It was right after my freestyle semi-final and all I was focussing on was holding together a good race when I was going to be a bit tired," Barratt said.
“I wasn’t thinking about medals beforehand, I just wanted to execute the race well and do the skills the way I wanted, and I did so I am very happy."The women’s 4x200m freestyle relay of Carla Buchanan, Minna Atherton, Harkin and Ariarne Titmus broke the Australian and Commonwealth record to claim the bronze medal.
