9 kids awarded Bike Safety Rodeo medals

QUAKERTOWN — Nine young bike riders were presented kids medals for demonstrating safe-riding skills at the Quakertown Community Bike Safety Rodeo held on the Quakertown Community Pool parking lot.

The first-, second- and third-place winners in the three age groups were:


Age 6-7 category: first place, Avery Sell; second place, Casey Olimuller; third place, Emma Tomlinson.

Age 8-9 category: first place, Elana Ritter; second place, Drake Babb; and third place, Caitlin Sell.

Age 10-12 category: first place, Woodrow Morgan; second place, Micah High; and third place, Kaleb Rider.

The event was co-sponsored by the Quakertown Borough and Richland police departments and the Richlandtown Lions Club. Local members of the Boy Scouts, and two local bicycle vendors assisted with the event’s activities. A raffle drawing held for seven new bicycles were won by Calvin Andersen, Caleb Babb, Evalaine Clemens, Kyleigh Opdyke, Woodrow Morgan, Avery Sell and Caitlin Sell. The prizes were donated by Walmart, the Richlandtown Lions Club and Richland Township Water Authority.
