Boston Marathon: Beth win the gold medal
Do you know Beth win the gold medal in Boston Marathon?
The following article will introduce she in detail. The featured athlete of the month is Beth Baumgarten. She is retired from government service and now works full time as a triathlon coach with her husband in their triathlon and cycling business (Sportfit Lab) in Herndon, Virginia.
Beth began running and doing triathlons on a bet from her brother that she couldn't complete one by the time she turned 50. Since her first 10K race in 2005, then first triathlon in 2006, Beth has become one of the top runners regionally (ranked 9th in the 50-59 age group in 2013), and top triathletes nationally (ranked in the top 5% nationally in the 55-59 age group in 2013), and has competed in the Boston Marathon three times and the Ironman World Championship and Olympic Distance World Championship in triathlon.
Beth finished Boston last year in 3:55:18, fortunately 14 minutes before the blasts. She qualified to run again this year. After recovering from an Achilles strain which reduced her training, she set her goal to finish at the exact time of the bombing, in 4:09:43, which she did within seconds. This year was a joyous celebration of the resiliency and determination of the human spirit and Beth was honored and proud to be a part of it.
There is much opportunity for anyone willing to dedicate himself to his labors. For marathon events, has same principle. If you try your best to do things, definitely you will gain something.
